Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. —Psalm 27:14
We have all been in our lowest. At work with our bosses making life difficult; landlords raising rent at unexpected difficult period; the feeling of loneliness; and the fact that you know you are trying your best drives you crazier.
Is it that time to call on God? And just say “God please help me”
In Psalms 27:7, David called out to the Lord when he was in desperate straits. He prayed, “Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!”-
Israel was in just such a place when God parted the sea before them – Exodus 13:17-14:31.
Daniel was protected in the lion’s den – Daniel 6:10-23.
Paul and Silas were delivered from prison – Acts 16:25-40.
If life seems to be closing in on you, don’t despair! Trust God. He has promised to make a way. God specializes in showing His power in hopeless situations.
Our unknown future is secure in the hands of our all-knowing God.
God made a way for the Israelites where there seemed to be no way. When Moses held out his rod, the Red Sea parted, enabling the Israelites to journey onward on dry land. And when Moses held out his rod again, the waters returned and drowned the Egyptian army.
This story would have had a much different outcome if Moses hadn’t given the Lord his shepherd’s staff. The pivotal moment came in Exodus 4:2, when God asked Moses the same question He asks each of us:
“What’s that in your hand?”
Do you see how powerful this is for you and me? Like Moses, we’re being called to do great things…supernatural things…things much bigger than we could ever accomplish without divine assistance
What is in your hand? Money? Time? Possessions? Influence? Some kind of special God-given aptitude?
The thing in your hand probably seems totally inadequate to meet the needs around you. However, you’ll be amazed by what can happen when you surrender it to the Lord.
God is always working on your behalf, even behind the scenes where you can’t fully see. In that place where you see no way out, in that struggle where you see no solution, in that problem where you have no answer, lay it before Him. Every worry. Every care. Be reminded that He is with you today, He knows your way, and has a plan. Trust Him.
We all need to wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen our heart.
So go ahead and give God what you’ve been holding onto. It’s not doing you much good in its present condition anyway.
When you trust Him and follow His instructions, He will make a way for you!
So let these words by Don Moen in a song keep this message afloat in your heart:
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way;
He works in ways we cannot see,
He will make a way for me.
