“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just  as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

This month of May 2019, we have been going through a series in my church – Mavuno Church titles “What if I Fly” and the various challenges we have been tasked to meditate and take action upon – we are made to fly, we are powered to fly, what’s your mission in the Kingdom and what steps are you taking? – the need to change the narrative of our society.

The above discussions have been rolling in my mind and have been asking God to internalize in my mind what he intends I pick out and I heard in my spirit the following words:

“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. (John 3:8).

The wind blows wherever it pleases, and so too is our response to His lead. Wherever God leads I will follow.

We always strive to be worldly Admired, but heavenly unused.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

God designed you uniquely and gave you specific gifts and talents to fulfill His purpose for your life.  With his help you can be guided into a life filled with joy and satisfaction. God declares that His thoughts /plans, He has toward us are to give us an expected outcome. By always keeping our mind focused on God, while maintaining an attitude of expectancy for His plans to play out in our life frees us from the world’s expectations. Keeping this mindset and attitude also makes us available to God, so that His intentions & purpose for our lives are fully carried out.

We are a Made with Eagles wings.

The Old Testament talks a lot about literal vessels, which were set apart for special use in the house of the Lord, the New Testament, on the other hand describes us Christians as the chosen vessels –those who have received Christ as their Savior, are God’s chosen vessels. 2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us there are no exceptions – whether you think you are unworthy or you think you are good enough that also is a lie. These lies keep us from being all that God would have us to be, which is the very image of his Son Jesus Christ. When we look to God through His Word and by His Spirit, you will understand who we are in comparison to who we should be in the Lord. When we humble ourselves and acknowledge our need for His grace and our willingness to change, then there is visible evidence of His glory in us for the world to see.

Did you know that you were God’s idea—created with a specific purpose in mind?

Each encounter of the glory of God transforms us more into His image. What happens in between each experience of God’s glory is what makes all the difference in being transformed. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, the very life of Christ that dwells within each person who is born again, which gives us the power to be transformed and have Eagles Wings. Only when we allow God to turn over our way of thinking will our behavior begin to change. Sometimes this can be painful just as when eagles wings start to grow out, but so necessary for the reconstruction to take place. This is called surrender. God loves you and wants you to know Him so He can fill you with peace and give you real life forever.

Why are we so far from flying yet we have Eagles wings?

Since the beginning of time, we have chosen to disobey God and go our own way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God.

Most of us are far from flying because we have been marred and scarred, we have been battered by the world, broken and glued back together and our cracks, which are now pasted over with obvious patches are still screamingly visible. Every lumpy place is a reminder of how He gently patched you up. They are special marks of His loving work on you, and His promise to keep you for Himself. These conditions have made us to find it hard to believe that God would use such an awkward-looking vessel like us for His glory. When we see your imperfections as a result of the scares and cracks God sees a promise in you for a better, greater and purposed you. The marks serve as a testimony to others of God’s love, and His faithfulness to work on such a person as you.

“All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s holiness.” God doesn’t create each of us to be like some superhero, without flaws and weaknesses. He strategically includes some thin places and weak spots. It is through our weaknesses and flaws that His character and strength can shine through. What we perceive as defects are actually His brilliant and planned marks of potential. Jesus Christ is God’s Son. He is the only One who can bring us back to God. Jesus died on the Cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and people.

God has provided the only way – we must make the choice.

What will make us fly?

“As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believed on His name.” (John 1:12)

Do you feel afraid and doubtful of flying?

You were intentionally made that way to feel doubtful of flying inside because you were designed to be taught to fly. You are a carrier of the Holy Spirit who helps us to fly. However for this to happen, we must trust Jesus Christ to forgive our sins and receive Him as our Savior and serve Him as our Lord. The Substance within us is infinitely more significant than ourselves because the Holy Spirit is our Life-Giver.

Pilate’s question. “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?” (Matthew 27:22).

The immediate answer that came from the people was to crucify Jesus and that is exactly what happened. What are you going to do with Jesus Christ?

You either accept Him as Lord and Savior of your life or you reject Him as Lord and Savior.

What if you choose to accept Christ? Is that the end? Absolutely not. Once we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we must then decide how we will answer that same question on a daily basis.

What shall I do, then, with Jesus Christ Everyday?

Every Person that chooses Christ every day is given the power to utilized his Eagles wings to fly everyday in every situation and is sanctified

“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32).
