Being Full Of God

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”(Hebrews 13:5)

Do you ever feel like you and God have drifted apart and that the love and joy you once experienced with Him has faded?

We would all like to experience more health, abundance and success in our lives and God, being God, He has all of these things. So to be full of God is to be full of health, abundance and success.

But how does one become full of God?

As Christians, we are all capable of living in the fullness of God every day of our lives. God is continually pouring out His love, joy, peace, revelation knowledge, and every other blessing.

When God made you, He designed you to run at optimal level when you are filled with His love, like a car that runs at its best when it is filled with the right kind of petrol. When you realize how much God loves you and you feed on His love for you, you will be supernaturally filled with the fullness of God. And to be full of God is to be full of everything God is to you and has for you. To be full of God is to come to a place of life, health, peace, abundance total wellness.

In 1 Timothy 4 snap shot of scripture tells us, “Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. Jesus prayed that the same love that God the Father has would be in you.

“And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:26)

Jesus revealed God as His Father and your Father. This means that God wants to be your eternal Father, and He wants you to accept the position of His child. But, the Lord is more concerned about your heart than He is your actions.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean (Matthew 23:25-26).

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him (Mathews 12:35).

When you are conscious of how much God loves you and you become filled with the fullness of God, what follows is God doing exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think, according to the power that works in you (Ephesians 3:20). You will experience the tremendous blessings of God exploding in your life.

You will become a blessing magnet!

The reason the heart responds in a negative way is because we allow it to be dominated by external, or physical, things instead of by the Word of God. Our hearts control what we say, and they also control what we do. Love, joy, peace, patience, and the rest of the fruit of the Spirit are also products of what our hearts believe.

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man” (Mark 7:21-23).

You were created for love. You are made in the image of the God of love. Your purpose is to give love and receive love. God made you in His image so that you could experience His love. God desires to have the most intimate relationship with you possible. That is, you in God and God in you, united in love. This is why Jesus came to earth so that He could restore our ultimate purpose of a holy relationship with God.

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Prov. 23:7).

Our understanding is then darkened, and we become insensitive to God. We actually cause our hearts to become hardened. When our hearts become hardened or insensitive to God, they automatically become sensitive, dominated by, and controlled by our physical senses.

God desires to fill us with the fullness of Himself. But how?

First we must receive power through the Holy Spirit to have the ability to receive Christ into our heart. This is God’s grace whereby He does the work in you.

Second is the entrance of Christ into your heart by faith.

Grace is God’s part and faith is our part. The Holy Spirit in you is proof of God’s love for you. Your faith is proof of your love for God. However, faith without works is dead, so faith without obedience is not faith. Obedience to God proves your faith.

To be filled with the Spirit means to be caught into the joy that flows among the Holy Trinity. We must set before our own soul the banquet of promises that God has made to us and feed our faith to the full. God wants us to feast on his promises and be filled with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit we may abound in hope.

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:16-19)

You become full of God when you are overwhelmed by how much He loves you.
